Bruce, the King of Scotland, pondered the plight of a spider that respun its gossamer thread across bare beams of his bedchamber’s ceiling. Inspired by the cheery insect, he decided that failure was not an option, and spun forth several victories and in doing so, coined the phrase, “If at first you don’t succeed, try try again.”
