Spiders and Spouts

Click Image to EnlargeBruce, the King of Scotland, pondered the plight of a spider that respun its gossamer thread across bare beams of his bedchamber’s ceiling. Inspired by the cheery insect, he decided that failure was not an option, and spun forth several victories and in doing so, coined the phrase, “If at first you don’t succeed, try try again.”
It is that impudent persistence that pervades new business models that try to find the next generation of television. Bandwagons abound, as do the people willing to hop on them. In just fifteen months, we’ve seen the birth (and for some, the demise) of umpteen constructs aimed at creating value out of this new world. Which, by the way, noone seems to understand.
